Kashmir all set to have its first dedicated Sports Tv Channel

Srinagar, Aug 27: Kashmir is all set to have its first dedicated sports Tv channel. The channel will telecast different sports live on TV, said an official.

The live telecast of cricket matches will come up with all international standards with TV umpire having referrals from on field umpire and Decision Review System (DRS).

Post abrogation of Article 370, J&K has been witnessing development and peace and youth are exploring different opportunities to excel in various fields.

The sports channel has been the long pending demand of local youth but the successive governments in J&K has never fulfilled this demand.

It was only after August 2019 when the renowned athletics from J&K called on authorities have reiterated their demand.

“Our dream is all set to come true. We are really thankful to J&K authorities who are doing a lot for the youth,” said a group of athletes.

Through the sports channel, an official said that the viewers will have feel of watching international matches as channel using different graphics will display the past performances, records of the players.

Pertinently, ANN News organized and telecasted all matches of historic cricket league on Tv which received a lot of appreciation from viewers. and cricket lovers across the J&K. The league titled TCI Max J&K Qualifiers League was held at Gani Memorial Stadium Rajouri Kadal Srinagar.

“It is a welcome move that Kashmir will have its own sports Tv channel. Every state in our country is full of avenues and sports Tv channels have been helpful in promotion of sports and sports activities,” said a group of athletes.

The channel is scheduled to be launched in September 2023 with dignitaries and high officials expected to grace its inauguration, said sources.KNS
