KISHTWAR,18 Sep: The Chairperson District Development Council, Kishtwar Mrs. Pooja Thakur today chaired the quarterly General Council Meeting here at the Conference Hall of DC Office Complex Kishtwar.
The meeting was attended by the Vice Chairperson DDC Kishtwar, Saima Parveen Lone; Deputy Commissioner, Kishtwar Dr. Devansh Yadav IAS; CEO General Council/ADDC Kishtwar Sham Lal, ACR Kishtwar Varunjeet Singh Charak,Joint Director Planning Mohd Iqbal, DPO Kishtwar Sunil Bhutyal, all the BDC Chairperson and DDC Councilors besides district and sectorial officers.
Before the meeting started, a 2-minute silence was observed to pay tribute to local Martyr Rifleman Ravi Kumar and others who recently sacrificed their life for the nation, and the father-in-law of the DCC Chairperson, who passed away in the previous month.
At the outset the CEO General Council, Sham Lal (JKAS) welcomed all the members of the general council and apprised them all about the objectives of the meeting.
The chairperson Mrs Pooja thakur reviewed the sector wise physical and financial status of the works taken up under District Capex, Area Development Plan & DDC, BDC and PRIs plan for the FY 2023-24.
During the meeting, the council was apprised about the action taken report (ATR) of the grievances raised in the previous general council meeting.The officers of the concerned departments explained the progress on the grievance pertaining to their departments.
The majority of the grievances have been redressed whereas redressal on the rest of the grievances is under progress and will be completed in a time bound manner, informed CEO General Council Kishtwar during the meeting.
Also, during the meeting the block wise issues and grievances related to the various departments of PHE, Health, JPDCL, Education, PWD etc were highlighted by the DDC and BDC members which were noted down by CEO General Council.The necessary directions were given to the concerned officers for immediate resolution of these highlighted issues.
Meanwhile,the Chairperson stressed upon the concerned executive agencies to expedite the pace on the ongoing developmental projects in the district and ensure the projects taken up under the FY 2023-24 are completed ahead of the ensuing winters.
She also stressed upon the executing agencies to mobilise the men and machinery at work place at full capacity to achieve the targets.
The DDC Chairperson exhorted upon all the departments to work in tandem to ensure the encumbrances which are hampering the developmental works are removed and projects are completed in timely manner.
