BANDIPORA, NOVEMBER 07: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Bandipora, Dr Owais Ahmad on Tuesday presided over a meeting of concerned officers to assess preparations for the ‘Fifth Phase of Back to Village Programme (B2V5)’ commencing from November 08.

The ‘Back to Village’ initiative is the flagship public outreach, participation, and feedback program of the Jammu and Kashmir Government. Threadbare discussion on a number of activities scheduled to be carried out during the program was held in the meeting.

Deputy Commissioner (DC), Dr. Owais Ahmad underlined the significant impact of the previous phases of the Back to Village program.

He noted that these initiatives have been instrumental in identifying the specific needs and priorities of villages, allowing for the prioritization of essential public works, and ensuring the efficient last-mile delivery of different government services.

Furthermore, the DC said that the program has played a pivotal role in spreading awareness about the numerous government services and initiatives.

The DC asked the stakeholder departments to mobilize the people for enthusiastic participation in the program, emphasizing that their involvement is imperative for the success of the program.

He also encouraged all government officers to actively engage in B2V activities to achieve the specific objectives set for this phase.

It was given out that the ‘Back to Village’ program has evolved over the years and is now an integral component of the Aspirational Panchayat Program.

The primary aim of this program is to achieve the saturation of services and bridge the existing gap between the government and the people it serves.

The meeting was attended by the ADDC Bandipora, Mohammad Ashraf Hakak; ADC Bandipora Umar Shafi, ACR Bandipora, JD Planning, and other concerned officers.
