Srinagar Dec 02: In its endeavours to make a positive impact on the local population, the Indian Army conducted a two day Job Fair at Chinar Nau Jawan Club, Boniyar on 01- 02 Dec 23. Aimed to provide a common platform to the local youth seeking employment avenues and the employers, the Job Fair fulfilled it by attracting nearly 2500 youth of J&K for nearly 600 job vacancies.
The event was organized in close cooperation with the Directorate of Employment, J&K which brought together employers from the Union Territory and outside, allowing the candidate to seek jobs in different sectors like agriculture & farming, Horticulture, Animal Husbandry and Handlooms.
The Job Fair also was successful in providing information on various institutional schemes aimed at Generating self-employment and all the available financial aid schemes.
Besides the above, many private firms also participated in the Job Fair, Providing employment avenues to both the skilled and un-skilled individuals.
Online interviews were also conducted by various employers at the site using the facility of the newly created IT Lab. Distribution of Appointment Letters, Corporate Social Responsibility Donations for Vocational Training Centres and awarding of Technical qualifications were some of the high points in the highly successful event.
The Job Fair is the latest step by the Indian Army in its holistic approach in fostering economic growth in the area and Further strengthening the harmonious bond between Army & Citizens.
