One day training program on HADP held at Hiranagar

 KATHUA, FEBRUARY 26: A one-day training on Holistic Agriculture Development (HADP) was today held at the community center of Londi Panchayat in Hiranagar, Kathua district.

 The training program was presided over by SDM Hiranagar, Rakesh Kumar, and organized under the stewardship of Deputy Commissioner Kathua, Dr Rakesh Minhas with the objective to cover five model Panchayats of Hiranagar tehsil  with the cent percent saturation of the HADP scheme.

During the event, officers from the Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Kathua, Agriculture, and allied sectors participated. The training was imparted to the farmers on 29 projects approved by the Government of J&K, with an outlay of Rs. 5013 crore to be spent over the next five years. These projects aim to transform the agriculture economy of J&K, putting it on a new trajectory of growth, doubling the output of the sectors, boosting exports, and making the sectors sustainable and commercially viable. The projects cover various sectors including Horticulture, Sericulture, Apiculture, Animal Husbandry, Sheep Husbandry, Poultry, Fisheries, etc.

While addressing the farmers, Head KVK Kathua Dr. Vishal Mahajan said that the main purpose of the program is to apprise the farmers about the scheme for successful implementation and complete saturation in the Londi Panchayat under the HADP programme of the Agriculture sector.

AEO Hiranagar Vinod Kumar discussed in detail the different projects being implemented by the Agriculture department under HADP. He also threw light on the registration process, funding pattern, sanctioning process, and its implementation.

VAS, Hiranagar Dr. Suresh Kumar briefed the participants about schemes being implemented by the Department of Animal Husbandry such as IDDS, IPDS, Dairy Development in J&K, Roadmap for poultry development in J&K, etc.

Other officers from the Fisheries Department also spoke about Technological Interventions for Fish Seed and Carp production in UT of J&K.

The Department of Science and Technology also apprised the farmers about the PM Kusum scheme under which 80% subsidy can be availed for solar pump sets.

The farmers showed keen interest in the program, and a few on-spot registrations of farmers were also done by the Agriculture department.

It was announced that a special training session will be held on February 28th, 2024, at Jhandi Bagh at 12 noon to acquaint the farming community with the latest know-how about agriculture and allied sectors.
