KISHTWAR, MARCH 02: In adherence to the directives from the J&K State Legal Services Authority, the District Legal Services Authority, in collaboration with the District Social Welfare Department, on Saturday organized an enlightening awareness program on “DIVYANG JAN KOSHAL VIKAS AND DIVYANGJAN ROZGAR SETU” here, in Aashiyana Boys Hostel Kishtwar.
Under the adept guidance of Chairman District Legal Services Authority (Principal District & Sessions Judge) Kishtwar and the supervision of Secretary District Legal Services Authority Kishtwar, Ramesh Lal, the event witnessed the active participation of District Social Welfare Officer, Tariq Parveez Qazi, Tehsil Social Welfare Officer, Rajesh Sharma, Naveed Khurshid (Deputy Chief LADC), Pooja Shan (Panel Lawyer) and PLVs of DLSA Kishtwar.
The focus of the program was to underscore the significance and importance of “DIVYANG JAN KOSHAL VIKAS AND DIVYANGJAN ROZGAR SETU.”
Resource persons delivered enlightening talks on these topics, emphasizing the pivotal role of skill development in providing employment opportunities to the persons with disabilities.
The program also shed light on the crucial connection between voting, elections in a democracy, and the inclusion of persons with disabilities and senior citizens.
During the event, the Deputy Chief LADC highlighted the provision of skill development and employment for Persons with Disabilities (PwDs) under the Divyangjan Rozgar Scheme. This initiative, operating under the framework of PM Daksh-DEPwD, aims to impart skill training and employment opportunities to PwDs.
The Participants were introduced to the digital platform www.pmdaksh.depwd.gov.in, offering comprehensive information on job providers, employers, and requisite skills training through 200 plus skill development programs.
The resource persons elaborated on the benefits of schemes tailored for specially-abled individuals, providing historical perspectives behind these initiatives. The program successfully disseminated knowledge, fostering a better understanding of the schemes designed to empower and uplift persons with disabilities.
