KISHTWAR, MARCH 07: Deputy District Election Officer (Dy DEO) Kishtwar, Idrees Lone today chaired a comprehensive meeting to review the ongoing activities under Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) in the district.

The meeting, attended by DIO, DIO NIC, BDO, ENT, Nodal Officers, and staff of the Election department, focused on strengthening awareness initiatives to encourage voter participation.

Addressing the attendees, Dy DEO emphasized the pivotal role of voter participation in strengthening democracy. He urged officers to adopt a multi-pronged strategy to ensure maximum voter turnout in the upcoming elections.

Furthermore, Dy. DEO instructed concerned officers to promptly submit the SVEEP Plan in his office, enabling the execution of activities such as “Democracy Trekking” and “Youth Parliament” besides formation of “Peace Committee”.

He underscored the importance of enhanced coordination among officers to effectively disseminate SVEEP awareness throughout the district.

Furthermore, Deputy District Election Officer Kishtwar, Idrees Lone, directed concerned officers to prioritize SVEEP awareness campaigns in polling stations exhibiting a gender ratio below 920, an EP Ratio below 60%, and those with a higher concentration of Persons with Disabilities (PWDs). Additionally, emphasis was placed on areas where voter turnout was below average. These directives aim to ensure that every eligible voter is empowered with information and encouraged to exercise their democratic right.

The meeting concluded with a commitment from all stakeholders to work diligently towards fostering an informed and participative electorate for the forthcoming General Election 2024.
