BANDIPORA, JUNE 07: In a collaborative effort, the College Library and the Department of Computer Applications of HKM Bandipora on Friday organized an awareness programme on ‘How to Use e-Resources through N-List Platform.’
The event was conducted to educate students, researchers, and faculty members on effectively utilizing the National Library and Information Services Infrastructure for Scholarly Content (N-LIST).
N-LIST, a college component of e-Shodh Sindhu, provides access to a wide range of e-resources through login-based access via the Shibboleth setup at the INFLIBNET Centre.
The programme commenced with an inaugural address by the Principal, Prof. (Dr.) Masood Ahmad Malik, who welcomed the initiative and lauded the organizers for their efforts in enhancing the academic environment of the college.
The programme featured two informative lecture sessions. Dr. Tariq Shafi, Chief Librarian, delivered an in-depth lecture on the utilization of the N-LIST platform by the college library. He covered various aspects of accessing and navigating the platform, highlighting its importance in academic research and study. His detailed explanation helped attendees understand the vast array of e-resources available through N-LIST and how to make the best use of them.
Professor Audil Hussain, Head of the Department of Computer Applications, presented the second lecture focusing on Web OPAC (Online Public Access Catalog) and other online facilities arranged by the college. He explained how these online tools can assist students in accessing study materials efficiently. His session provided practical insights into the technological resources available at the college for academic support.
The lectures were followed by an interactive question-answer session, allowing participants to clarify their doubts and gain further insights into the topics discussed.
