BANDIPORA, AUGUST 07: As part of the Swachhata Pakhwada celebrations, the Department of Physical Education and Sports at Government Degree College (GDC) Sumbal today organized a badminton match within the college campus, here.
The event witnessed significant participation from both players and spectators.
Principal Prof. (Dr.) Shabeena Iqbal Shawl addressed the attendees, underscoring that the match aimed to promote the message of cleanliness inspired by Mahatma Gandhi. She highlighted Gandhi ji’s lifelong advocacy for a clean and healthy India, stressing the importance of a healthy population for national progress.
Prof. Manzoor Ahmad Parrey, convener of the sports committee, detailed the importance of maintaining cleanliness and personal hygiene. He urged everyone to keep their surroundings clean and uphold high standards of personal and public hygiene.
The event was also attended by Muzzafar Ahmad Lone, PTI; Dr. Mehraj-u-din, HOD Political Science; Ishfaq Abdullah, HOD History; and Ishtiyak Ahmad, HOD Biotechnology.
