DODA, SEPTEMBER 02: As part of the Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) program, Youth Parliament sessions were organised in Educational institutions across District Doda aiming to promote electoral awareness and encourage young citizens to participate in the democratic process.

The event was held under the guidance of District Election Officer Harvinder Singh and the supervision of Chief Education Officer (Nodal Officer SVEEP) Parkash Lal Thapa.

Students participated in the Youth Parliament, engaging in debates, discussions, and mock sessions, simulating the parliamentary process. The initiative aimed to educate and empower young minds about democratic values, electoral processes, and civic engagement.

The Youth Parliament under SVEEP is an innovative way to engage the youth in democracy and encourage them to exercise their right to vote, the Chief Education Officer said.

The event was a success, inspiring young citizens to become active participants in the democratic process and exercise their right to vote in the upcoming Assembly Elections on September 18, 2024.
