POONCH, SEPTEMBER 30: District Election Officer (DEO) Poonch, Vikas Kundal, today conducted a comprehensive inspection of the Strong Room at Girls HSS Poonch, focusing on security arrangements ahead of the vote counting scheduled for October 8th. The review, aimed at ensuring the integrity of the electoral process, covered key aspects such as the functionality of CCTV cameras, digital infrastructure, and other allied security arrangements.

The inspection involved a detailed review of the CCTV surveillance system, ensuring that all cameras were operational and providing clear, uninterrupted coverage of the premises. The digital infrastructure was also scrutinized, with the team confirming that all systems required for monitoring and data management were fully functional.

He also examined allied arrangements, including the deployment of security personnel and access control measures. The presence of the Returning Officers (ROs) from the three assembly segments added a layer of localized insight, ensuring that specific concerns related to each constituency were addressed comprehensively.

The thorough review left no stone unturned, with officials ensuring that all protocols were adhered to. The security of the Strong Room, which will hold the EVMs until counting day, was confirmed to be fully intact and in compliance with Election Commission guidelines.

The DEO was accompanied by Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Poonch, Tahir Mustafa Malik, Deputy DEO Poonch, Saleem Ahmed, Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Mendhar, Imran Rashid Kataria, and Returning Officers (ROs) from Haveli, Mendhar, and Surankote constituencies.

The officials meticulously inspected the security setup, verifying the readiness of the Strong Room to safeguard the Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs).
