Srinagar, Oct 10 : The National Conference on Thursday said that the party will stick to its promises, stating that it will fight for the restoration of Article 370 and the rights of people that were snatched on August 5, 2019.

Speaking with reporters at party headquarters in Srinagar, NC spokesperson Tanvir Sadiq, as per news agency— said that the party will stick to its promises.

“Today is our party meeting and tomorrow we will choose the leader. Jammu and Kashmir requires a strong and vibrant leadership and I don’t think anyone is better than Omar Abdullah,” he said.

Meanwhile, former MP and senior NC leader Hasnain Masoodi said that with the formation of government, they will start working on restoration of Article-370. “We will deliver all those promises that were made by NC in its party manifesto.”

Another party leader, Farooq Ahmad Shah said that people have showed faith in NC and J&K requires a strong and effective government.

Shah also said that they will fight for the restoration of Article-370 and rights of people that were snatched on August 5, 2019.

In the meantime, prominent political leader and Former MLA Baramulla Javaid Hassan Beigh said, “Since the people have shown faith in NC, we will work on providing employment for our youth.”

“We will also work on the issue that has remained unaddressed post abrogation of Article-370,” he said.

Beigh said, “NC will fulfil all those promises that were mentioned in the party manifesto.”

JKNC candidate Surinder Choudhary said, “People have clearly rejected the BJPs decision of 2019 by voting against them.”

“BJP has neglected almost every aspect of Jammu and Kashmir and people have responded with votes by defeating them. It has also neglected the Pir Panchal area,” he said.

Choudhary said, “I have defeated BJP’s Ravinder Raina with 7819 votes. Raina was a state person of BJP. By rejecting the key person of BJP, it is clear what people expect and want from NC.”

Meanwhile, Shamima Firdous said, “The faith people have shown in NC will boost me to work up to their expectations.”

“In today’s party meeting, let’s see what our President says and decide. We will fulfil all those promises that we made to the people,” she said.
