GANDERBAL, NOVEMBER 05: The final expenditure reconciliation meeting for the Legislative Assembly Election candidates from the Kangan and Ganderbal constituencies was held today at the Mini Secretariat in Ganderbal.
The meeting, chaired by Expenditure Observer, Ashok Gautam, focused on reviewing and reconciling the campaign expenses reported by candidates to ensure compliance with electoral norms.

Deputy Commissioner (DC) Ganderbal, Shyambir, along with the Deputy District Election Officer, other district officials, contesting candidates, and their election agents, attended the meeting.

The expenditure scrutiny included a detailed examination of the candidates’ abstract statements, expenditure registers, and supporting documentation, such as receipts, invoices, and bank statements.

The purpose of this review was to confirm that all campaign spending aligns with legal and ethical standards, promoting transparency in the electoral process. Additionally, the reconciliation involved a thorough comparison of candidates’ declared expenditures with shadow registers maintained by the Election Office to monitor actual spending.

This meticulous monitoring and reconciliation process is crucial for ensuring transparency and upholding fair election practices within the district.
