‎‎RAJOURI, JULY 17: Additional District Development Commissioner Rajouri Malikzada Sheraz Ul Haq, today chaired a comprehensive review meeting of the Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) 2.0 and Swachh Bharat Mission-Grameen (SBM-G).

‎‎A detailed review of the physical and financial progress of JJM works, Functional Household Tap Connection (FHTC) coverage, status of civil works, water availability, scheme-wise implementation and issues affecting project execution was undertaken. The officers also presented the latest progress achieved under Jal Jeevan Mission and Swachh Bharat Mission-Grameen.

‎‎During the meeting, the Superintending Engineer Jal Shakti Department informed that a total of 298 Jal Jeevan Mission schemes are under execution in Rajouri, including 183 schemes in Rajouri Division and 115 schemes in Nowshera Division. Out of these, 53 schemes have been completed.

‎‎It was further informed that 1,35,612 rural households have been covered under the mission, out of which 92,316 households have been provided Functional Household Tap Connections (FHTCs), achieving an overall coverage of about 68%. The remaining 43,296 households are targeted to be covered in a phased manner.

‎‎The Jal Shakti Department also informed that the district has 298 water supply schemes with an estimated project cost of ₹1,942.80 crore, covering 19 blocks and 385 villages, to provide safe and adequate drinking water to rural households across Rajouri district.

‎‎During the meeting, the ADDC stressed the need for expeditious completion of all ongoing works to ensure that the benefits of safe and adequate drinking water reach every eligible household within the stipulated timelines.

He directed the executing agencies to mobilise adequate manpower and resources for completing the projects without any further delay.

‎‎The ADDC laid emphasis on regular monitoring of all works at the field level, asking the concerned officers to conduct frequent inspections and closely track the progress of every scheme. He instructed that bottlenecks hampering implementation should be identified well in time and resolved through coordinated efforts of all concerned departments.

‎‎The ADDC also called for proper follow-up of all pending issues, including inter-departmental matters, land-related constraints, power connectivity and other technical issues, so that project execution is not affected.
‎‎Stressing accountability, the ADDC instructed the officers to ensure quality execution of works while adhering to prescribed technical specifications.
