SAMBA, NOVEMBER 07: Seven persons from different areas of district Samba became proud owners of Commercial Vehicles by availing the benefits of Mumkin Scheme under the J&K government’s flagship Mission Youth program.

Deputy Commissioner Rajesh Sharma handed over the keys to the eligible beneficiaries in presence of Assistant Director Employment (Nodal Officer for Mission youth schemes) Naresh Kumar.

The DC urged the beneficiaries to work hard to become a role model for others. He appealed to the unemployed youth to come forward to seek financial assistance to start any type of self employment activity in the district under different schemes of Mission Youth like, Mumkin, Tejaswini and Spurring Entrepreneurship Initiative scheme.

The MUMKIN scheme has been launched by Mission Youth J&K. Under this scheme commercial vehicles are being provided to the youth at 20% subsidy on the bank loan enabling them to earn a decent livelihood. The cost of insurance and registration charges are to be borne by the government.

So far 491 applications have been approved by the District Level Task Force in Samba against which subsidy has been released in favour of 249 candidates amounting to Rs. 205.71 lakh.
