RAMBAN, NOVEMBER 16: A concerted drive against child labor and welfare measures for children in street situations was conducted today in Ramban under the directions of the Commissioner/Secretary to the Government, Social Welfare Department, and the guidance of Deputy Commissioner Ramban, Baseer-Ul- Haq Choudhary.

The initiative, held under the supervision of District Child Protection Officer (DCPO) Rahul Gupta, was led by CWC Member Sushma and PO Institutional Care, DCPU, Rozy Firdous.
Representatives from the Labour, Police, and Health departments also participated in the operation.

The drive was conducted at Ramban Bus Stand, resulting in the rescue of six children in vulnerable circumstances. They were promptly provided care and protection under the Juvenile Justice Act and restored to safer environments by the Child Welfare Committee.

The DCPO lauded the collective efforts of all stakeholders and reaffirmed the administration’s commitment to eradicating child labor and ensuring a safe environment for every child in Ramban. Authorities urged citizens to report any incidents of child labor or distress through the 24×7 Child Helpline, as similar initiatives will continue across the district.
