PULWAMA, DECEMBER 17: The Central Integrated Pest Management Centre (CIPMC) Srinagar, in collaboration with the State Agriculture Department Pulwama, organized a training session on the National Pest Surveillance System (NPSS) App for progressive farmers of Pulwama District.

The session aimed at familiarizing farmers with modern pest monitoring and management techniques.
Assistant Plant Protection Officer (PP), CIPMC Srinagar, DPPQ&S Faridabad, Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare, Government of India, was the key speaker for the event. He delivered an informative session detailing the features and functioning of the NPSS App, which enables farmers to monitor pest populations and manage pest-related challenges effectively.

He highlighted the app’s role in real-time data collection, surveillance, and pest management, enhancing agricultural productivity and sustainability.

A practical, hands-on training session followed, where farmers were guided on how to upload images of pest and disease through the app. This session provided a direct, interactive learning experience; ensuring farmers understood how to use the app effectively in their day-to-day agricultural practices.

The training session was attended by District Agriculture Officer (Inputs) and District Agriculture Officer (Ext.) Pulwama District, who appreciated the initiative and emphasized the importance of such technological tools in improving pest control and crop protection.

The event aimed to empower farmers with the knowledge and skills needed to tackle pest issues and enhance agricultural output in Pulwama.
