KISHTWAR, JANUARY 16: To gear up the progress of the Jal Jeevan Mission Schemes in the district, DC Rajesh Kumar Shavan and MD JJM, Khurshid Ahmed Shah held a review meeting to assess the status of Water Supply Scheme in the district.

At the outset, Executive Engineer Jal Shakti gave a comprehensive presentation regarding ongoing schemes. It was informed that 39 schemes out of 129 have been completed in the district to date, while work on other projects is on.

The MD JJM set the target of completing the laying of the pipeline network by February 2025. Additionally, he emphasized the importance of completing all pending schemes and achieving 100% “Har Ghar Jal” certification for covered villages.

The Deputy Commissioner directed the AEEs and JEs to ensure adherence to quality specifications and timeline completion of works. He especially laid stress on proper embedding of rubber pipes in the forest areas to avoid any future damage due to forest fires. “The concerned JJM authorities will be held responsible for any damage to Pipeline and the resulting liabilities would be on the concerned JE,” he maintained.

Furthermore, he instructed officials to resolve any land issues in collaboration with the District Administration to avoid delays in project implementation.

The review meeting was attended by Superintending Engineer Mechanical, Bodh Raj Bhagat; Consultant JJM Salim Malik; DFO Kishtwar; Executive Engineer Jal Shakti, Sunil Sharma; AEEs; JEs; and Third-Party Inspection (TPI) agencies involved in civil and mechanical works.
