RAJOURI, JANUARY 17: Deputy Commissioner Abhishek Sharma, convened a comprehensive review meeting with multiple departments to assess the progress of ongoing works including the execution of national projects such as the construction and widening of the National Highway in the district.

The Deputy Commissioner underscored the importance of adhering to the deadlines set for completion of different components of the Highway project. He emphasized the need for seamless coordination among departments to address challenges and bottlenecks effectively.

District Mineral Officer (DMO), Mohammad Sayeed, provided a detailed briefing on material availability and clearance processes.

Highlighting the importance of controlling illegal constructions along the National Highway, the Deputy Commissioner instructed the concerned authorities to ensure strict enforcement of the Ribbon Development Act to prevent unauthorised construction. Simultaneously he directed to expedite the processing of Change of Land Use (CLU) cases so that the general public, especially unemployed youth may not suffer.

Key officials present in the meeting included Assistant Commissioner Revenue (ACR) Rajouri, Executive Engineer PWD, Sardar Khan; and representatives from the Border Roads Organization (BRO).
