KATHUA, AUGUST 07: The Directorate of Law Enforcement today conducted inspections at several fertiliser and pesticide stores in Sangi More, Salalpur, Nagri, Nanka Chak, Janglote, Palli More and Barnoti in District Kathua.

The inspection was led by Enforcement Director Balbir Singh, accompanied by Assistant Director Law Enforcement Jammu Kuldeep Singh, Enforcement Inspector Kathua Anil Kumar, and the Enforcement Team of Kathua.

Several irregularities were observed during the inspection. Consequently, show cause notices were issued to defaulting dealers, and unauthorised stock of 210 litres of pesticides and bio-fertiliser (Bio Stumlite) was seized on the spot.

The Director instructed all dealers not to sell fertilisers without verifying the Aadhaar card of buyers, emphasising strict compliance with government norms to prevent misuse and unauthorised distribution of agri-inputs. He also stressed maintaining accurate stock registers and billing records to ensure transparency and accountability.

The Assistant Director reiterated that any violation of guidelines would invite strict action under relevant legal provisions. Dealers were instructed to prominently display valid licences, maintain quality standards, and avoid selling unregistered or spurious products.
