KATHUA, MARCH 05: A public outreach programme was organized at Panchayat Ghar, Chak Gadadhar Block Kathua, as part of the Block Diwas initiative today.

The programme witnessed a significant turnout, with Additional Deputy Commissioner Kathua, Ranjit Singh, Chief Planning Officer Kathua, Ranjit Thakur, Ex-PRI members, District and Sectoral officers and a large number of people in attendance.

During the programme, individuals and Ex-PRI members projected demands and apprised the District Administration about the problems faced by the inhabitants of their respective areas. The key demands and issues raised included augmentation of flood protection infrastructure, better road connectivity, provision of drinking water supply in uncovered areas, demand for a playground and maintenance of bridge and sideways protection on old Samba road at Chak Gadadhar.

The officers and officials from various departments showcased government schemes and services, providing valuable information to the attendees.

Addressing the gathering, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Ranjit Singh emphasized the objective of Block Diwas, which is to reach out to the people, listen to their grievances, and provide services and knowledge about government schemes at their doorstep. Responding to the demands, the Additional Deputy Commissioner issued on-spot instructions to the concerned departments for time-bound resolution of all the issues. He stressed upon the officers to prioritize the grievances and ensure their timely redressal.

The event concluded with the Additional Deputy Commissioner, Chief Planning Officer, and other officers visiting stalls installed by different departments at the venue.
