JAMMU, MARCH 7: An awareness programme on New Criminal Laws was held at Tehsil Kharah Balli. The event, organised under the directions of District Magistrate Jammu, Sachin Kumar Vaishya and the overall supervision of SDM Khour, Satish Sharma, aimed at educating the public about key legal reforms.
Addressing the gathering, Tehsildar Narinder Kumar, provided an insight into the history and evolution of criminal laws, highlighting key provisions introduced in the new legal framework. Senior Prosecution Officer Ashwani Kumar elaborated on the salient features of the new laws, explaining their objectives and how they would enhance transparency and efficiency in the judicial process.
The program witnessed active participation from officials, including Mukesh Kumar, BDO Kharah Balli, Neeraj Choudhary, SHO and representatives from various departments. Local residents also attended in large numbers.
A highly interactive Question-and-Answer Session enabled participants to seek clarifications and comprehend the practical implications of the new laws. The interactive nature of the session was well received, with attendees appreciating the administration’s efforts in making legal knowledge accessible.
The initiative was widely lauded by the public, who emphasised the need for similar programs at the village level to ensure a broader reach.
