KISHTWAR, MARCH 12: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Rajesh Kumar Shavan on Wednesday handed over tractors to two farmers under the Farm Mechanization and Automation Scheme of the Holistic Agriculture Development Programme (HADP) for the year 2024-25.

Farmers Dev Raj of Poochal and Fareed Ahmed of Marwah farmers were provided a 50% subsidy, with a maximum limit of ₹5 lakh, to facilitate modern farming practices in remote areas.

The DC interacted with the beneficiaries, gathering insights on how the tractors would be utilized to improve agricultural productivity in the region. Earlier about two months back, 2 other farmers were provided the Tractors under the same scheme.

The Agriculture Department is extending subsidies ranging from 50% to 90% under various HADP initiatives to support farmers across the district. The farmers of the district are being encouraged to take advantage of the scheme for farm mechanization, which will enhance agricultural efficiency, reduce labor efforts, and improve crop production and productivity in an economical and time-effective manner.

The event was attended by Chief Agriculture Officer (CAO) Amjad Hussain Malik; SMS DL Jamshed Ahmed Dev; Sub-Divisional Agriculture Officer (SDAO) Marwah Manzoor Ahmed Zargar and other staff of the Agriculture department.
