BARAMULLA, APRIL 08: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Baramulla, Minga Sherpa, today chaired a review meeting at the DC office meeting hall to assess the progress across various indicators of the Aspirational District Programme (ADP).

The meeting involved in-depth discussion regarding the progress made under various indicators of the Aspirational District Programme, including health and nutrition, education, agriculture and water resources, financial inclusion and basic infrastructure.

During the meeting, DC took a review of the physical and financial progress of various projects undertaken under the ADP programme and directed the concerned officers to prepare the DPRs for various pending projects of financial year 2024-25 within 3 days.

He emphasized the need for sustained efforts to address developmental gaps and to further improve the district’s overall performance under the ADP framework.

Furthermore, the meeting also discussed the utilization of award money recently received from NITI Aayog, in recognition of Baramulla’s exemplary performance under the Aspirational District Programme during the previous financial year.

DC lauded the efforts of the district administration and line departments that contributed to this achievement, and highlighted the need to channel the funds strategically to ensure impactful outcomes across various indicators of the programme.

Meanwhile, to bridge the academic gap for rural and marginalized students, DC instructed the concerned officers to collaborate with reputed coaching centres and platforms to provide free and subsidized coaching for competitive examinations such as NEET and JEE.

Furthermore, DC directed concerned officers to prepare an actionable roadmap for effective utilization of CSR funds available to the district to focus on the development of Uri Sub-division which requires additional developmental focus to accelerate progress.

The meeting was attended by the Joint Director Planning, Javed Ahmad; Chief Agriculture Officer, Chief Medical Officer, Medical Superintendent of GMC associated Hospital, representatives of NHPC and officers from other concerned departments.
