Poster making competition organized by GDC Ramkote to mark Int’l Yoga Day

KATHUA, JUNE 20: To commemorate 11th International Yoga Day, a Poster Making Competition was today organized by the NSS unit of Government Degree College Ramkote under the guidance of the College Principal Dr. Rakesh Kumar Koul.

He encouraged the students to display their artistic talents to spread the message of Yoga. He emphasized the importance of Yoga in the overall well being of an individual and advised them to integrate it into their daily life to improve flexibility, strength, reduce anxiety, stress, chronic ailments etc. The objective of the competition was to bring college students close to ancient science and promote good mental and physical health. A total of 11 NSS volunteers from B.A. Sem. 2 and 4 participated in the event organized under the theme of ‘Yoga for One Earth, One Health’.

The jury of the competition comprised Prof. Pankaj Nandan, IQAC Convener and Prof. Suresh Chander, Convener NSS Committee.

The first position was secured by Taniya Sharma of Sem 4, the second position by Minakshi Devi of sem 4 , while Kajal Devi of sem 2 stood third in the competition. The art displayed by all participants was highly appreciated by the judges. The event was organized by Prof. Anu Sharma, NSS PO who declared the results of the competition and informed the participants that their art work will be posted on My Bharat Portal to spread the message of Yoga. The participants included Sulactiona Devi, Nitakshi Sharma, Rita Rani, Taniya Sharma, Priyanka Devi, Meenakshi Sharma, Richu Devi and Latasha Sharma.
