KUPWARA, MARCH 15: The Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Handwara, Aziz Ahmad Rather today kick-started plantation drive at Children Park Handwara and Public Park Langate by planting Chinar saplings.
The Plantation drive was conducted by the Floriculture department under the theme of Saving Chinar Trees. It was informed that the plantation drive was carried out in the entire valley and a set target of 10,000 chinar saplings has to be achieved.
On the occasion, the ADC impressed upon the concerned officers to encourage the people to plant more and more trees in their surroundings for a healthy and clean environment.
Later, the ADC inspected various examination centres established in different schools of Handwara sub-division including Government Higher Secondary School Qalamabad.
