ADC Jammu reviews preparedness for Pulse Polio Immunization 2025 drive

JAMMU, DECEMBER 11: Additional Deputy Commissioner Jammu, Vidhu Shekhar today presided over a District Task Force meeting to review Jammu district’s preparedness for the Pulse Polio Immunization (IPPI) 2025 campaign, scheduled from December 21 to 23, 2025.

During the drive, children below five years of age would be administered oral polio vaccine as part of the national effort to sustain polio-free status and maintain high immunity levels across the country.

In the meeting, officers briefed the ADC on a detailed operational plan for the district, including arrangements for static immunization booths, house-to-house vaccination drives and transit site activities with special focus on high-risk areas.

It was informed that Jammu district has mapped 2,22,389 children aged 0–5 years for the campaign, with over 1,41,256 in rural areas and 81,133 in urban areas.

Elaborate arrangements comprising 1258 booths, 38 transit points, 2516 house-to-house teams, 5032 team members, 257 supervisors have been put in place to ensure that no child is left out during the campaign.

The ADC was briefed on the strategy for covering transit points such as major transport hubs and crowded public places, besides migratory populations, slums, nomadic settlements, industrial clusters and brick kilns.

The ADC directed all stakeholder departments to strengthen monitoring and supervision mechanisms, ensure inter-departmental coordination and formulate robust contingency plans to support smooth execution of the campaign across all parts of Jammu district.

The meeting was attended by the District Immunization Officer, PO ICDS, Chief Planning Officer, District Health Officer, Health Officer of Jammu Municipal Corporation besides others.
