ADDC Kathua reviews arrangements for Independence Day-2025 celebrations

KATHUA, JULY 22: Additional District Development Commissioner (ADDC) Surinder Mohan today reviewed the arrangements for the smooth and successful conduct of the Independence Day here at a meeting of officers from line departments.

The mega event will be held at the Sports Stadium, where the Chief Guest would hoist the National Flag and take the salute at the ceremonial march-past. The parade will include contingents from the JK Police, Army, Paramilitary Forces, Forest Protection Force, NCC and platoons from various educational institutions, besides bands from the PTS and the Army.

The ADDC directed the concerned officers to carry out renovation works at the venue and make all necessary logistical arrangements to ensure a seamless conduct of the celebrations at the district headquarters.

It was informed that the event will begin with Shehnai Vadan at the offices of the Deputy Commissioner and Senior Superintendent of Police, Kathua, to be presented by the teams of the Information Department.

The ADDC laid emphasis on meticulous arrangements pertaining to security, sanitation, drinking water, electricity, barricading, seating, transportation, distribution of invitation cards, prize distribution and illumination of government buildings for the occasion.

The Tehsildar (HQ) and Chief Education Officer were tasked to finalize the list of Cultural presentations by students.

The ADDC also called for cleanliness drives, plantation initiatives, and flag hoisting in all government offices across the district, ensuring that the day is celebrated with due reverence and enthusiasm.

He exhorted all departments to complete preparations well in advance and work in coordination to ensure a dignified and vibrant celebration of the national festival.

The meeting was attended by ADC Kathua, Vishavpartap Singh, Additional Superintendent of Police Rahul Charak, CPO Kathua Ranjit Thakur, CMO Dr Vijay Raina and officers from various line departments.
