KATHUA, DECEMBER 05: Additional District Development Commissioner Kathua Surinder Mohan today chaired a meeting of stakeholder departments to review the progress under key beneficiary-oriented schemes being implemented in the district.

The meeting was held in the Conference Hall of the DC Office Complex and attended by Chief Planning Officer, Program Officer ICDS, General Manager DIC, Assistant Commissioner Development, Assistant Commissioner Panchayat, LDM, Chief Medical Officer, Chief Education Officer, CAHO, and other district officers.

The ADDC took a detailed review of POSHAN schemes and PMMVY, along with Pre and Post-Matric Scholarship schemes of the Social Welfare Department. It was noted that the district has achieved 100% saturation in the State Marriage Assistance Scheme (SMAS).

On the establishment of 120 Kisan Khidmat Centres, it was reported that five centers have already been set up, and the remaining are expected to start functioning by the end of December.

Regarding the Smart Kisan Credit Card scheme, the district has achieved 44% saturation of its target. The ADDC urged stakeholders to expedite efforts to achieve full saturation.

The meeting also reviewed progress in school education, emphasizing the need to strengthen infrastructure in left-out schools, including constructing buildings, dedicated toilets for boys and girls, and ensuring the provision of electricity and drinking water.

For the Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP), it was highlighted that 593 cases were targeted, out of which 386 have been sanctioned, and 89 disbursed to beneficiaries. The ADDC stressed expediting the disbursement process.

The progress of other schemes such as PM Vishwakarma, PMFBY, HADP, and Daksh Kisan was found satisfactory. The ADDC called for taking institutional deliveries from the current 96% to 100% with the intervention of all stakeholders. Besides, efforts to improve the child sex ratio, currently at 915, were emphasized by targeting hotspot areas and curbing the practice of sex determination and female foeticide.

Other schemes, including PM SVANidhi, PMAY (Urban and Gramin), NAIP IV, IHHL, and NFSA, were also reviewed. Directions were issued to create actionable plans to ensure timely saturation by identifying and targeting potential beneficiaries.

The ADDC urged banks to prioritize disbursement for small business and social security schemes, addressing delays caused by procedural hurdles. He stressed the importance of sensitizing applicants through awareness camps and enhancing collaboration between banks and stakeholder departments to streamline disbursements. ‎
