BANDIPORA, MARCH 11: Agriculture Department Bandipora conducted a practical training session under the Soil Health Programme for PM SHRI Schools to sensitize students about the importance of soil testing and sustainable agricultural practices.
During the programme, students from Higher Secondary Schools Shahgund, Shadipora and Ajas participated and were imparted practical knowledge on soil sample collection and the process of registering farmers on the Soil Health Portal.
The training was conducted by Dr. Shahid Haji, who demonstrated the correct methods of collecting soil samples from agricultural fields to ensure accurate soil testing. He also guided the students on the procedure for registering farmers on the Soil Health Portal so that they can obtain Soil Health Cards and receive scientific recommendations for improving soil fertility.
The programme proved highly informative and interactive, enabling students to gain hands-on knowledge about soil health management and the digital registration process for farmers.
