SRINAGAR, DECEMBER 23: Directorate of Agriculture Kashmir organised Kisan Diwas (National Farmer’s Day) 2015 to acknowledge and encourage the relentless efforts of farmers, who form the backbone of the agricultural economy.

The programme highlighted the need to support farmers through sustained policy measures, innovation, and extension services.

On the occasion, Director Agriculture Kashmir, Sartaj Ahmad Shah, delivered a detailed address on the importance of Kisan Diwas and underscored the vital role played by farmers in ensuring food security and rural development. He also outlined the future work strategies of the department, focusing on strengthening farmer-centric initiatives, improving productivity, and promoting sustainable agricultural practices.

The Joint Director Agriculture (Extension) Kashmir also spoke on the significance of the day, emphasizing the role of extension services in transferring modern technologies and best practices to farmers at the grassroots level.
Senior officers of the Agriculture Department were present during the event, reaffirming the department’s commitment to farmer welfare and agricultural development in the region.
