UDHAMPUR, JULY 16: The Animal Husbandry Department Udhampur successfully organized a veterinary-cum-awareness camp here at Panchayat Ghar Thanua today. The special initiative, spearheaded by Chief Animal Husbandry Officer Dr. Sanjay Gupta, aimed to provide essential services and knowledge to farmers in the far-flung area.

The camp was presided over by Superintendent of the District Veterinary Hospital (DVH) Dr. Anwar Hussain and conducted in collaboration with the Mobile Veterinary Unit Udhampur. Approximately 150 farmers mostly women from both the poultry and dairy sectors attended the event, benefiting from a range of services.

Farmers received crucial information on various Central and UT-level employment-generating schemes, designed to enhance their livelihoods. Additionally, attendees were provided with free veterinary consultations and complimentary medicines for their livestock.

Participants expressed their deep appreciation for the Animal Husbandry Department’s efforts, recognizing its commitment to doubling farmers’ incomes. The event also served as a platform for several Self-Help Groups (SHGs), Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs) and beneficiaries of Animal Husbandry Schemes to share their inspiring success stories and experiences.

Dr. Hussain assured the community that the department plans to organize more such camps in the near future, reinforcing its dedication to supporting the region’s animal husbandry sector.
