ANANTNAG, OCTOBER 31: A vibrant event, presided over by the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Anantnag, Syeed Fakhrudin Hamid was on Thursday held at Wazir Bagh, Anantnag to mark the Rashtriya Ekta Diwas celebrations.
Hundreds of enthusiastic participants, including achievers from the district, youth and persons from all walks of life took part in the function.
During the event, cultural programmes including plays and singing performances on the nationalistic theme were held. Later, the achievers of the District in various fields of culture, sports, entrepreneurship, agriculture etc were felicitated for their contributions to the progress of the District and the country.
Notably, the event is a part of the Rashtriya Ekta Diwas celebrations which marks the birth anniversary of Vallabbhai Patel and celebrates his contributions to the country.
Later, the DC administered the Unity Pledge to the participants. He appreciated the widespread participation and spoke on the significance of the day.
