ANANTNAG, APRIL 17: The annual Urs of the revered saint Hazrat Baba Hyder Reshi, popularly known as Reshmol Sahab (RA), commenced today with religious fervour at the Ziyarat Sharief in Anantnag.

As per long standing tradition, the Urs will be observed for a period of six days, attracting a large number of devotees from across the region. The first day marked the arrival of a number of devotees from different places who thronged the shrine to make prayers and pay their obesiance.

In this regard, Deputy Commissioner, Dr. Bilal Mohiud Din Bhat, visited the revered place and took stock of the arrangements being made available to the devotees. He was accompanied by ACR, CEO and Secretary MCA besides other senior officials of administration and line departments.

On the occasion, the DC paid his obesiance and offered prayers for the prosperity and overall betterment of the district. He said the administration has streamlined all necessary services, including power, water, and sanitation, during these auspicious days and shall facilitate smooth observance of the Urs.

Interacting with the congregation, the DC stated that the shrine has long stood as a symbol of reverence and deep devotion, defining the region’s heritage and commitment to spiritual values. These occasions provide apt opportunities for people from different places to interact with each other and share ideas on piety and harmony, he remarked.

Dr. Bilal issued on spot directions to the concerned departments to ensure all necessary facilities are provided to the devotees in a smooth and uninterrupted manner.
