Arrangements for upcoming religious events reviewed in Reasi

REASI, MARCH 26: Additional Deputy Commissioner Rakesh Kumar today convened a meeting to discuss and finalize arrangements for the upcoming festivals, including Shab-e-Qadr, Jamat-ul-Vida, Eid-ul-Fitr (falling on March 27th, 28th & 31st, 2025), as well as Navratras ( starting from March 30th to April 6th, 2025) followed by Ramnavmi.

The meeting was held in the Video Conference Hall, Deputy Commissioner Office.
The ADC directed all concerned departments to ensure adequate arrangements for security, sanitation, water and power supply, traffic management and medical facilities during the festivals. Special emphasis was laid on maintaining law and order, smooth movement of devotees and worshippers and the cleanliness of religious sites.
Officials from the Police, Municipal Committee, Jal Shakti, Power Development Department (PDD), Health Department and other concerned agencies participated in the meeting and assured full preparedness.

He also directed the concerned officers to conduct regular market inspections to keep check on overpricing, profiteering and ensuring availability of quality eatables. The Public Works Department (PWD) was asked to ensure the maintenance of roads leading to religious places and marketplaces for the convenience of devotees and the general public.

Additionally, the Fire and Emergency Services Department was instructed to remain on high alert and deploy adequate personnel and fire tenders at vulnerable locations to prevent any untoward incidents.

He also instructed all SDMs to ensure proper arrangements in their respective jurisdictions so that the celebrations take place without any inconvenience to the public.

The meeting was attended by SSP Paramvir Singh; ACD Pardeep Kumar, XEN PHE, XEN PWD, EO MC and others.
