KATHUA, SEPTEMBER 19: In preparation for the Assembly Elections 2024, General Observer Sunil Kumar Yadav for Kathua on Thursday chaired a meeting with representatives and election agents from different political parties and contesting candidates.
The meeting, held in the Conference Hall of the DC Office Complex, focused on strict compliance with the guidelines of the Election Commission of India (ECI) to conduct free, fair, and transparent elections in the district.
Police Observer Rohit Malpani and Returning Officer for 66-Jasrota Assembly Constituency, Akhil Sadotra, were also present.
General Observer Yadav highlighted the importance of adhering to the ECI’s Model Code of Conduct and other election-related regulations. He urged all political parties and their representatives to ensure smooth conduct of the election process by following the established rules. He emphasized that any violations or concerns should be reported immediately to ensure prompt and effective action.
The General Observer reiterated the ECI’s commitment to maintaining neutrality and transparency throughout the election process, underscoring the goal of creating a level playing field for all candidates. He assured that the ECI is focused on safeguarding the integrity of the electoral process at every stage.
The meeting concluded with a call for cooperation from all political parties to uphold the principles of fair play and democracy, ensuring the successful conduct of the Assembly Elections in Kathua.
