DODA, NOVEMBER 08: In a significant move to empower young girls and promote a healthy lifestyle among them, Deputy Commissioner (DC) Doda Harvinder Singh today handed over sports and gym equipment to Girls Hostel and Parisha Doda. The initiative falls under the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao (BBBP) scheme, aimed at encouraging the participation of girls in physical activities and enhancing their well-being.
The distribution ceremony was attended by the Chief Education Officer, District Social Welfare Officer, DYSSO and Principal of Girls Hostel, along with other senior officers and wardens.
The equipment provided includes a range of sports items and gym apparatus, selected to cater to the diverse interests and fitness needs of the girls residing in the hostel.
DC Harvinder Singh interacted with the students, encouraging them to pursue their dreams with determination and confidence. He emphasized the importance of physical fitness alongside academics, highlighting how sports can enhance their personal development and resilience.
The Deputy Commissioner underscored the support available to them through various government initiatives like BBBP, which strives to uplift and provide equal opportunities to young girls. He advised them to utilize the sports facilities and gym equipment as a means of building strength and confidence, which are essential for tackling life’s challenges.
