SRINAGAR, NOVEMBER 09: The Centre of Excellence for Temperate Fruits Zawoora, Srinagar today hosted a significant training and awareness programme for nursery growers across the Kashmir division.

Organized by the Nursery Registration Office (NRO) Kashmir, this initiative aimed to introduce the latest advancements in designer plant cultivation under the Holistic Agricultural Development Programme (HADP), empowering growers with cutting-edge knowledge and practices.

The programme attracted a large gathering of nursery growers from across the Kashmir Valley, where they received hands-on training and insights into innovative techniques for cultivating temperate fruit plants.
A highlight of the event was the distribution of Nursery Registration Cards to registered growers by NRO Kashmir, a crucial step in formalizing and recognizing the growers’ contributions to Kashmir’s horticulture sector.

Dr. Wasim from the Central Institute of Temperate Horticulture (CITH), along with the District Horticulture Officer (DHO) Srinagar and other senior department officers, engaged directly with the nursery growers. These experts provided practical guidance, answered questions, and offered valuable advice on maximizing production efficiency and quality through the adoption of modern practices.

Speaking on the occasion, CEO of Centre of Excellence stated, “This programme reflects our commitment to enhancing Kashmir’s horticultural landscape through knowledge sharing and support for nursery growers. By adopting the latest technology and sustainable practices, we aim to set new standards in the field and empower local growers.”

This initiative aligns with HADP’s broader goals of advancing agricultural practices, boosting productivity, and fostering sustainable growth in the horticulture sector.

The training programme is expected to have a lasting impact, equipping growers with the skills needed to thrive in a competitive market and strengthen the region’s agricultural output.
