JAMMU, JUNE 30: The Office of the Chief Electoral Officer, Jammu & Kashmir, today bid farewell to Dr. Nirupa Rai, Special Secretary Election Department on attaining superannuation.
During her tenure in the Election Department, Dr. Nirupa Rai made significant contributions towards strengthening the institutional functioning of the Department and ensuring smooth and efficient conduct of election-related activities, including the Lok Sabha Elections and General Assembly Elections-2024. Her role in election management, coordination with stakeholders, enforcement agencies, media engagement, and implementation of various electoral processes was highly appreciated.
The farewell function was held at the Office of the Chief Electoral Officer, Jammu, and was attended by the officers and officials of the Department, including Chief Electoral Officer, J&K, Sanjeev Verma; Joint Chief Electoral Officer, Anil Salgotra; Additional Secretary, Muzaffar Malik; Deputy Chief Electoral Officer, Jammu, Gurpinder Singh; Deputy Chief Electoral Officer, Mohammad Altaf Zullah; Nodal Officer SVEEP, Salam Din and Under Secretary, Abdul Rehman Bhat.
Speaking on the occasion, Joint Chief Electoral Officer, Anil Salgotra expressed gratitude to Dr. Rai for her valuable guidance and mentorship. He acknowledged her important role in strengthening the Department’s functioning and appreciated her ability to effectively handle critical election assignments, including enforcement of Model Code of Conduct, coordination with enforcement agencies, media management, and other election-related responsibilities.
Additional Secretary, Muzaffar Malik also lauded Dr. Rai’s professionalism, dedication, and valuable contribution to the Department.
On the occasion, Dr. Nirupa Rai expressed her gratitude to the officers and officials of the Department for their affection and support. She said that working in the Election Department had been a challenging yet enriching experience, and that the warmth and cooperation extended by colleagues would always remain special to her.
She added that the farewell occasion brought back memories of her journey in public service and expressed gratitude to her parents and family for their constant support and encouragement.
The Election Department placed on record its sincere appreciation for Dr. Rai’s years of dedicated service and wished her good health, happiness, and a fulfilling post-retirement life.
