SAMBA, NOVEMBER 12: District Development Council (DDC) Chairman Keshav Dutt Sharma today assessed the progress of developmental projects/works funded under the district CAPEX and UT Capex 2024-25 Budget here at a meeting of the Council.

Held in the DC Office Complex Nandani Hills, the session aimed at addressing developmental challenges and ensuring adherence to timelines for completion of projects.

The meeting was attended by District Development Commissioner Rajesh Sharma; Vice Chairman Balwan Singh; Additional District Development Commissioner and CEO DDC Champa Devi; DDC members, Chief Planning Officer, ACD, XENs, and senior district officials. The focus was to assess the advancement of critical projects and to resolve any bottlenecks impeding their timely execution.

In a comprehensive review of the district’s ongoing initiatives, the Council discussed developments across Power Development, Jal Shakti, School Education, Health, Mining, and other sectors. Deputy Commissioner Rajesh Sharma presented a detailed status update on the projects, fostering productive discussions between DDC members and district officers to enhance collaboration and address local concerns effectively.

The Chairman highlighted the urgent need to upgrade the district’s power infrastructure, calling on officials to expedite ongoing works under the Jal Jeevan Mission to meet project deadlines. Emphasis was placed on healthcare improvements, especially the need to bolster staff strength in rural health centers to improve accessibility and quality of medical services for all residents.

He further underscored the importance of keeping DDC members updated on the progress of projects within their respective jurisdictions. “Regular updates empower DDC members to stay informed, ensuring that developmental activities align with the needs and priorities of the community,” he remarked.
