THATHRI (DODA), OCTOBER 08: The 27th World Sight Day 2026 was observed at Community Health Centre Thathri under the guidance of Chief Medical Officer Dr. Vinod Sharma and the supervision of Block Medical Officer Dr. Shakeel Ahmed Kichloo.
The programme was organised in line with this year’s theme, “Love Your Eyes,” with a focus on promoting eye health and creating awareness among the public about the importance of regular eye care.
A series of activities were conducted at CHC Thathri, including awareness sessions on eye care, common eye diseases and preventive measures. Patients and attendants were sensitised to the importance of timely eye check-ups and seeking appropriate medical care for vision-related problems.
Eye screening of beneficiaries was also carried out, facilitating early identification of vision related issues. Spectacles were distributed among eligible beneficiaries as part of the programme.
The health staff highlighted that regular eye examinations, timely treatment and preventive care can help protect vision and reduce the burden of avoidable visual impairment.
