BARAMULLA, JUNE 19: CIPMC Srinagar organized “Khet Bachao Abhiyan” at District Agriculture Office, Sopore, Baramulla in collaboration with State Agriculture Department officials and farmers of Baramulla District.
The programme was attended around 50 people to make it a huge campaign. Dr. Muzaffar Talib, SMS (SDL) and Dr. Masooda Bano, SMS (SDL), who were also designated as Nodal Officers of National Pest Surveillance System of the district, chaired the programme.
Abir Shankhari, Assistant Plant Protection Officer, demonstrated various tools and techniques of IPM, and also discussed about “Safe & Quality Use of Pesticides”. He also gave a detailed training to farmers and state department officials, about NPSS and how to use the application.
Kawal Nain Singh, Scientific Assistant, gave a brief lecture about “100% Seed Treatment”. Similarly, Dr. Muzaffar Talib, gave a valuable lecture about Soil Testing and Natural Farming.
Dr. Masooda Bano shared valuable points about precautions of pesticide spraying and prevention of sell/buying spurious pesticides.
