Doda, September 22: Commissioner Secretary, Rural Development, and Panchayati Raj, Mandeep Kaur, visited Doda District, where she met with the District Development Council and listened to their issues patiently. She also reviewed progress on the implementation of ongoing schemes of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj department during another meeting held here today.
Throughout the discussion with Commissioner Secretary Mandeep Kaur, DDC Councillors and BDC Chairpersons passionately voiced their genuine issues.
In the meeting, detailed deliberation was held on various issues pertaining to, 2016-2017 and onwards material liabilities under MGNREGA, Left out genuine beneficiaries for PMAY-G & AWAS Plus houses, Human Resource Status of the district including shortage of BDOs, JEs and enhancing the honorarium of GRSs, Construction of BDC office buildings in the blocks, UT Capex Budget, PMAY (G), MGNREGA, Swachh Bharat Mission (G), Capex Budget, and other local issues of the Councillors.
The meeting was attended by Chairman, District Development Council Doda, Dhananter Singh Kotwal, Vice Chairperson DDC Doda Ms Sangeeta Rani, BDC Chairpersons, DDC Councillors, ADDC (CEO) Doda, CPO Doda, ACD Doda, ACP Doda, BDOs and other concerned officers.
The Commissioner Secretary said that the department is following strict financial management system, with utmost transparency through online mechanisms and digital services.
While replying to the complaints against some officials by the Councillors, she informed the house that the department has zero tolerance for corruption and corrupt officials.
She made it clear that the detailed inquiry follows in the department against any complaint of corruption or misappropriation with immediate disciplinary action on erring official.
During the meeting, the Commissioner Secretary also said that about 500 new panchayat ghars have been sanctioned by the government.
