Srinagar March 11: Chairman DPAP Ghulam Nabi Azad while addressing a public meeting in Devsar, Kulgam today pledged to introduce law to safeguard land and job opportunities in the region if elected to power. He emphasized the need to address the suffering of the people and outlined a procedural path through which the legislative assembly could enact such a law. He said, if elected to power, this initiative would be his foremost priority.
He further said, When the government issued land eviction orders, our party was the only one that took to the streets. It was my party which fought against land eviction orders, so bulldozers were stopped. I met the Home Minister in Delhi, he added. He stressed the importance of restoring statehood, noting that the government has assured in Parliament that statehood will be reinstated after elections. Azad emphasized the disparity in electricity billings, pointing out that while the poor struggle, there should be a clear distinction between business owners and low-income individuals. He vowed that under his government, those with low incomes would receive free electricity. Azad further promised to accelerate development in the J&K UT, with new infrastructure including roads, colleges, and schools. He promises to establish additional districts, hospitals, and expand road networks for better accessibility. Azad said, “I gave district to Kulgam, have to give more districts when I will come in power, my dream is to do more development.” Azad expressed gratitude for the overwhelming response received in his public meetings across Jammu and Kashmir, including today’s gathering in Kulgam, where massive support was witnessed. He assured the people that he would never betray their trust or compromise their votes for power, unlike other parties.
Azad reaffirmed his commitment to fulfilling his promises, ensuring that what he pledges, he will deliver. He further stressed the urgent need for change, highlighting the damaging effects of false propaganda disseminated by divisive parties. He called on the public to unite behind a party with a proven track record of effective governance. He reiterated the widespread desire for progress, emphasizing the critical importance of prioritizing development, job creation, and peace over past experiences of violence and bloodshed. Azad affirmed his slogan, stating, “Kaam Bolta hai, Kaam Bolega” (Work Speaks, Work will speak). He emphasized that his actions and achievements will speak for themselves, reflecting his commitment to delivering tangible results for the people.
