Coronavirus: Four die, 706 test positive in JK

Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir Monday reported four deaths and 706 fresh positive cases of COVID-19, thus taking the number of total active cases in the Union Territory to 4,024.
With four more deaths, the death toll in J&K has reached to 4,544 and 706 fresh positive cases reported on Monday have pushed the tally of positive cases to 343,965.
Of the exact number of 345,358 cases, 216,849 are from Kashmir division and 128,509 from Jammu division.
Officials said that among 706 new cases, 361 belong to Kashmir division while as 345 are from Jammu division, adding that the total number of positive cases in Kashmir division have reached to 216,849 including 212,773 recoveries and 2,335 deaths while as total number of positive cases in Jammu division have reached to 128,509 including 124,017 recoveries and 2,209 deaths.
The officials said that the total number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 4,024 including 1,741 from Kashmir division and 2,283 from Jammu division.
With 209 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in Jammu and Kashmir has reached 336,790 which is 97.51 percent of the total cases.
“Cases tested positive in J&K include 172 from Srinagar, 64 from Baramulla, 45 from Budgam, 14 from Pulwama, 18 from Kupwara, 14 from Anantnag, 11 from Bandipora, 04 from Ganderbal, 19 each from Kulgam and 00 Shopian in Kashmir division while as 345 from Jammu division include 233 from Jammu division, 18 from Udhampur, 04 from Rajouri, 09 from Doda, 18 from Kathua, 08 from Samba, 12 from Kishtwar, 16 from Poonch, 01 from Ramban and 26 from Reasi,” officials disclosed.
Meanwhile, authorities said that no fresh cases of Mucormycosis popularly known as black fungus was reported in the UT and the tally stands at 51.
As per officials figures, 79,701 positive cases including 885 deaths and 77,897 recoveries are from Srinagar, 26,266 including 291 deaths and 25,689 recoveries are from Baramulla, 24,734 including 24,332 recoveries and 218 deaths are from Budgam, 15,801 including 15,533 recoveries and 195 deaths are from Pulwama, 15,054 including 168 deaths and 14,811 recoveries are from Kupwara, 16,780 including 16,535 recoveries and 208 deaths are from Anantnag, 11,063 cases including 10,063 and 111 deaths are from Bandipora, 11,063 including 10,918 recoveries and 82 deaths are from Ganderbal, 11,606 including 11,436 recoveries and 118 deaths are from Kulgam and 5,621 including 5,559 recoveries and 59 deaths are from Shopian.
In Jammu division, 55,567 including 52,976 recoveries and 1,164 deaths are from Jammu district, 11,581 including 11,345 recoveries and 139 deaths are from Udhampur, 11,447 including 11,145 recoveries and 240 deaths are from Rajouri, 8,130 including 7,910 recoveries and 138 deaths are from Doda, 9,527 including 9,245 recoveries and 153 deaths are from Kathua, 7,237 including 7,063 recoveries and 120 deaths are from Samba, 4,883 including 4,809 recoveries and 44 deaths are from Kishtwar, 6,706 including 6,514 recoveries and 101 deaths are from Poonch, 6,114 including 6,019 recoveries and 67 deaths are from Ramban and 7,317 including 6,991 recoveries and 43 deaths are from Reasi.
As per the daily information bulletin 5,431,281 persons in Jammu and Kashmir are under observation while 7,925 persons have been kept under home quarantine besides that 4,024 persons are in isolation.
According to the bulletin, 4,981,361 persons have completed the surveillance period and 433,427 persons are under home surveillance besides that so far results of 19,888,003 samples are available. Out of 19,888,003 the number of samples tested negative stands at 19,542,645 while as 345,358 have tested positive, among them 4,024 persons are active, 336,790 persons have recovered and 4,544 persons have died.
