COVID-19: JK logs 1148 new cases, Two deaths

Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir Tuesday reported two deaths and 1,148 fresh positive cases of COVID-19, thus taking the number of total active cases in the Union Territory to 4,810.
Notably, cases are increasing in J&K at an alarming rate as the positivity rate increases from 0.35 percent to 2.09 percent in just the last eight days.
With two more deaths, the death toll in J&K has reached 4,546 and 3,148 fresh positive cases reported on Tuesday have pushed the tally of positive cases to 346,506.
Of the exact number of 346,506 cases, 217,357 are from Kashmir division and 129,149 from Jammu division.
Officials said that among 1,148 new cases, 508 belong to Kashmir division while as 640 are from Jammu division, adding that the total number of positive cases in Kashmir division have reached to 217,357 including 212,888 recoveries and 2,335 deaths while as total number of positive cases in Jammu division have reached to 129,149 including 124,262 recoveries and 2,211 deaths.
The officials said that the total number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 4,810 including 2,134 from Kashmir division and 2,676 from Jammu division.
With 360 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in Jammu and Kashmir has reached 337,150 which is 97.30 percent of the total cases.
“Cases tested positive in J&K include 256 from Srinagar, 94 from Baramulla, 59 from Budgam, 12 from Pulwama, 30 from Kupwara, 18 from Anantnag, 19 from Bandipora, 05 from Ganderbal, 13 each from Kulgam and 02 Shopian in Kashmir division while as 640 from Jammu division include 301 from Jammu division, 77 from Udhampur, 29 from Rajouri, 10 from Doda, 64 from Kathua, 26 from Samba, 04 from Kishtwar, 45 from Poonch, 13 from Ramban and 71 from Reasi,” officials disclosed.
Meanwhile, authorities said that no fresh cases of Mucormycosis popularly known as black fungus was reported in the UT and the tally stands at 51.
As per officials figures, 79,957 positive cases including 885 deaths and 77,932 recoveries are from Srinagar, 26,360 including 291 deaths and 25,704 recoveries are from Baramulla, 24,793 including 24,348 recoveries and 218 deaths are from Budgam, 15,813 including 15,543 recoveries and 195 deaths are from Pulwama, 15,084 including 168 deaths and 14,817 recoveries are from Kupwara, 16,798 including 16,539 recoveries and 208 deaths are from Anantnag, 10,242 cases including 10,072 and 111 deaths are from Bandipora, 11,068 including 10,931 recoveries and 82 deaths are from Ganderbal, 11,619 including 11,443 recoveries and 118 deaths are from Kulgam and 5,623 including 5,559 recoveries and 59 deaths are from Shopian.
In Jammu division, 55,868 including 53,029 recoveries and 1,165 deaths are from Jammu district, 11,658 including 11,351 recoveries and 139 deaths are from Udhampur, 11,476 including 11,145 recoveries and 240 deaths are from Rajouri, 8,140 including 7,921 recoveries and 138 deaths are from Doda, 9,591 including 9,251 recoveries and 153 deaths are from Kathua, 7,263 including 7,063 recoveries and 120 deaths are from Samba, 4,887 including 4,812 recoveries and 44 deaths are from Kishtwar, 6,751 including 6,524 recoveries and 102 deaths are from Poonch, 6,127 including 6,019 recoveries and 67 deaths are from Ramban and 7,388 including 7,147 recoveries and 43 deaths are from Reasi.
As per the daily information bulletin 5,450,352 persons in Jammu and Kashmir are under observation while 7,402 persons have been kept under home quarantine besides that 4,810 persons are in isolation.
According to the bulletin, 5,000,174 persons have completed the surveillance period and 433,420 persons are under home surveillance besides that so far results of 19,942,682 samples are available. Out of 19,942,682 the number of samples tested negative stands at 19,596,176 while as 346,506 have tested positive, among them 4,810 persons are active, 337,150 persons have recovered and 4,546 persons have died.
