COVID-19: Three die; 458 test positive in J&K

Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir Saturday reported three deaths and fresh 458 cases pushing the number of active cases to 6,255 in the UT.

With three more deaths, the death toll in J&K has reached 4,744 and 458 fresh positive cases reported on Saturday have pushed the tally of positive cases to 450,331.

Of the exact number of 450,331 cases, 286,103 are from Kashmir division and 164,228 from Jammu division.

Officials told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that among 458 new cases, 206 belong to Kashmir division while as 252 are from Jammu division, adding that the total number of positive cases in Kashmir division have reached to 286,103 including 280,020 recoveries and 2,422 deaths while as total number of positive cases in Jammu division have reached to 164,228 including 159,312 recoveries and 2,322 deaths.

The officials said that the total number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 6,255 including 3,661 from Kashmir division and 2,594 from Jammu division.

With 1,624 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in Jammu and Kashmir has reached 439,332 which is 97.56 percent of the total cases.

“Cases tested positive in J&K include 80 from Srinagar, 13 from Baramulla, 20 from Budgam, 09 from Pulwama, 45 from Kupwara, 09 from Anantnag, 05 from Bandipora, 08 from Ganderbal, 13 from Kulgam and 04 Shopian in Kashmir division while as 252 from Jammu division include 88 from Jammu district, 26 from Udhampur, 05 from Rajouri, 65 from Doda, 07 from Kathua, 03 from Samba, 17 from Kishtwar, 06 from Poonch, 21 from Ramban and 14 from Reasi,” officials disclosed.

Meanwhile, authorities said that no fresh cases of Mucormycosis popularly known as black fungus was reported in the UT and the tally stands at 51.

As per officials figures, 101,746 positive cases including 907 deaths and 99,480 recoveries are from Srinagar, 37,479 including 304 deaths and 36,490 recoveries are from Baramulla, 34,688 including 34,225 recoveries and 237 deaths are from Budgam, 18,393 including 18,071 recoveries and 201 deaths are from Pulwama, 21,601 including 174 deaths and 21,117 recoveries are from Kupwara, 22,381 including 21,845 recoveries and 219 deaths are from Anantnag, 13,627 cases including 13,228 and 118 deaths are from Bandipora, 13,608 including 13,363 recoveries and 84 deaths are from Ganderbal, 16,283 including 16,052 recoveries and 118 deaths are from Kulgam and 6,297 including 6,149 recoveries and 60 deaths are from Shopian.

In Jammu division, 75,311 including 72,973 recoveries and 1,222 deaths are from Jammu district, 14,653 including 14,423 recoveries and 147 deaths are from Udhampur, 12,752 including 12,443 recoveries and 248 deaths are from Rajouri, 10,991 including 10,102 recoveries and 144 deaths are from Doda, 11,306 including 10,995 recoveries and 166 deaths are from Kathua, 9,057 including 8,865 recoveries and 124 deaths are from Samba, 5,825 including 5,741 recoveries and 45 deaths are from Kishtwar, 7,707 including 7,537 recoveries and 109 deaths are from Poonch, 7,967 including 7,716 recoveries and 69 deaths are from Ramban and 8,659 including 8,517 recoveries and 48 deaths are from Reasi—(KNO)
