ANANTNAG, JULY 01: In a bid to give final touch to the necessary arrangements for the Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra, commencing on July 03, Deputy Commissioner (DC) Anantnag (Yatra Officer Pahalgam Axis), Dr. Bilal Mohiuddin Bhat today made an extensive tour to Yatra Transit Camps, FCI Godown Mir Bazaar and Walnut Factory, Qazigund.
The Deputy Commissioner was accompanied by SDM Dooru, SEs PWD and KPDCL, ACR, CMO, CAO, AD Fisheries, Exens of various engineering wings, CEO MCA, officers from Police and other concerned departments.
During the visit, the DC took first hand stock of arrangements and facilities that have been made for ensuing Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra-2026, assessing the need for any reinforcements or modifications.
At both Transit Camps, the concerned officers informed the DC that adequate arrangements for amenities including toilets, health care, drinking water, power supply, langars, toilets, hygiene, sanitation and bedding have been put in place and the same will be fully functional during Yatra. He interacted with the deputed staff and inquired about their operational readiness for the Yatra. He directed that every facility committed be provided to the devotees in a seamless manner so they have a pleasant and enriching Yatra experience.
Reviewing the facilities, the DC directed for seamless readiness of all departments for the Yatra, ensuring a smooth and successful conduct of the pilgrimage. He inspected the entry and exits points, parking area and other critical locations and asked the concerned officials to ensure their proper utilization and monitoring. He further called for efficient maintenance of the drainage system as well the footpaths and langar spaces.
Traffic and crowd management besides contingency plans to accommodate Yatris during adverse weather were discussed and finalized during the visit.
Concluding the visit, the DC reiterated the district administration’s commitment to ensuring a safe, secure and fulfilling pilgrimage for the devotees.
