BANDIPORA, AUGUST 20: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Bandipora, Indu Kanwal Chib, today paid a surprise visit to the Gujjar and Bakerwal Hostel at Watapora, Bandipora, to review its functioning and interact with the students.
During the visit, DC enquired about the facilities being provided to the hostel inmates and urged the students to focus on their studies with dedication so that they can emerge as role models for their community.
She assured them of the district administration’s continuous support in improving the learning environment and infrastructure at the hostel.
DC also interacted with the hostel management and instructed them to ensure proper upkeep, sanitation, and provision of all basic facilities for the students.
She emphasized that hostels play a vital role in providing accommodation and educational support to students belonging to tribal communities, thereby bridging gaps in access to education.
