DC Bandipora reviews Multi-Sector projects to strengthen public services in district

BANDIPORA, DECEMBER 10: Deputy Commissioner Bandipora, Indu Kanwal Chib, today conducted an extensive inspection of major developmental works in Ajas, Nadihal and adjoining areas to assess progress on key infrastructure, public service delivery, and ongoing rehabilitation projects.

The tour commenced with the review of the ongoing construction work of the Model School for the Educationally Backward Block at Boys Higher Secondary School Nadihal, Bandipora. The Deputy Commissioner assessed the progress on-site, appreciated the efforts of the executing agency, and urged them to work with greater dedication to ensure seamless and timely results.

Later, the Deputy Commissioner took stock of the ongoing Water Supply Project for IRP at Ajas, being executed at a project cost of ₹1.79 crore. The DC inspected the site and directed the Executive Engineer, Ground Water Division, to explore additional and sustainable water sources to ensure an uninterrupted water supply to the IRP establishment.

The Deputy Commissioner also carried out an extensive inspection of the FCI PEG Ajas, accompanied by the Assistant Director FCS&CA Bandipora.

During the inspection, the DC checked stock position, quality control measures, hygiene standards, and the food grain dispatch system. The AD FCS&CA Bandipora briefed the DC about the functioning of the PEG facility, including procurement, storage protocols, and supply-chain management.

The DC also inspected the quality control laboratory, pest control mechanisms, and storage infrastructure. She reviewed the winter-dumped food grain stocks for Gurez and other snow-bound areas, ensuring that supplies for remote regions were adequately stored and maintained in optimal condition.

The Deputy Commissioner inspected the Capex (Rehabilitation) works amounting to ₹97 lakh, approved for restoring infrastructure damaged during the August-September 2025 floods. She reviewed the progress of restoration works and directed the concerned officers to expedite execution while maintaining quality and safety standards.

In continuation of her field review, the DC also took stock of the ongoing works at Papchan Nalla under the WUCMA-funded project, sanctioned at ₹3.29 crore. She examined the progress achieved during the current season, stressing on timely execution.

The Deputy Commissioner directed the concerned departments to maintain high standards of quality, transparency, and coordination in all ongoing works and to ensure uninterrupted public services during the winter months.

The Deputy Commissioner was accompanied by Assistant Director FCS&CA Bandipora; Executive Engineer R&B Bandipora; Executive Engineer I&FC Bandipora and other concerned officers.
